ACSRS has helped and taught me how to cope with a loved one who has an addiction. I had no idea on where to begin and now I know so much more.
I know how to manage stress levels now and I’m a much calmer person, I’ve been able to manage my life and work balance in such an effective way now that I have time for myself.
Since attending and learning so much my life has turned around. I can proudly say my partner has been drug free for 38 weeks and has now started work ! I have been taken off my anxiety medication and was given a promotion at my place of work. Without the help of ACSRS I don’t know where my life would be now, everything was explained to me in full and calmly. I never felt that there wasn’t enough time for me. I turned up unannounced and ranted about my problems and by the time i left i was laughing and calm. I personally feel disheartened at the fact funding may be stopped and other people like me may not get the help they need.
I truly value everything that has been done for me!
My meetings with my counsellor are helping me enormously. They help me articulate things that have plagued me for decades.
There are a lot of hard yards ahead, but she is helping me deal with them without cracking up. Having a compassionate and understanding neutral to let off steam at beats any medical intervention hands down. Thank you
